Anne grew up in Washington DC and spent summers at family places on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay, Maryland and mountains and valleys of Virginia. Later, in visiting Maine, she found a landscape where favorite places – the shore and mountains meet.  The historic artistic legacy, nature, and landscape of Down East Maine continue to inspire her creativity. She has recently renewed her interest in working with natural forms in still life, as well.

Anne earned her BFA and MFA in painting at American University in Washington DC and took advantage of visiting, studying and working in the museums and art centers in Washington, including The National Gallery of Art. She now splits her time between Maine and Tidewater Virginia, and maintains a studio in Down East Maine.
